  2. Fatihah: hai Aisya! how are you? any plans for this upcoming holiday?
Aisya: hi Fatihah! im fine thank you. well, Farah and i are going to visit Malacca. could you please tell us the best itinerary for the trip?
Farah: we are leaving to Malacca from Singapore around 11.00-11.30 a.m.. so the ETA would be around 3.00-4.00 p.m?
Fatihah: since you are arriving late afternoon, first thing you need to do is to check in at the RC Hotel for its prime location along Malacca river. it is one of the best luxurious hotels in the heritage area.
    Aisya: what is the cost?
Fatihah: The room rate during low seasons starts from RM268++. You may check the actual pricing on their website.
Farah: how can we explore Malacca?
Fatihah: you can explore Malacca by foot for one whole day, but not just going chaotically from one place to another.
    Aisya: wow it sounds interesting.
Farah: where are the nice places to visit in Malacca?
Fatihah: the first place to go for sightseeing is A'famosa, Bandar Hilir. The hallmark of Malacca and perhaps the most photographed subject next to the Stadhuys. Built by the Portuguese in 1511 as a fortress it sustained severe structural damage during the Dutch Invasion. The British East India Company had set to destroy it but timely intervention by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1808 saved what remains of A Famosa today.
Aisya: where can we go for shopping?
Farah: i want to buy some souvenir for my family and friends.
Fatihah: If you’re looking for a unique souvenir for that special someone, Dataran Pahlawan has dedicated its basement level to a craft-and-souvenir market, so you’re bound to find something to buy for friends and family back home.
Aisya: what about places to eat? what is the main attraction to look for food?
Fatihah: how about Asam Pedas Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisin. This dish is cooked in asam (tamarind) juice with chili and different spices. The cooking process involves soaking the pulp of the tamarind fruit until it is soft and then squeezing out the juice for cooking the fish/seafood. This is the signature dish of the state. A very hot and mild sour fish curry making it very appetizing and is best to go with white rice. I normally eat it during lunch and dinner.
Farah: Wow! i can imagine that the food will taste marvelous.
Fatihah: thats it for now. if you to visit, do contact me. i will show u the way :)

  3. Alysa : Hello Anis! How are you?
    Anis : I am fine.What about you?
Alysa : I am fine too.I have taken decision to visit Pulau Langkawi.
Anis : Oh, Excellent decision! But why did you choose Pulau Langkawi for
    Visiting?
Alysa : Pulau Langkawi is a place of historical interest. Many people from home and abroad come to Pulau Langkawi to visit the Tasik Dayang Bunting and Pantai Kok.
    I. Every beautiful place seems to have a legend behind, which makes it more interesting and memorable. Literally, the name of the island means "Island of the Pregnant Maiden". It has a touching and fairy-tale-like legend, making the island seems to be more mystical and amazing at the same time. The story of this island began when a beautiful fairy princess – Mambang Sari and Mat Teja, a man who fell in love with the princess from the moment he saw her. Mat Teja met Mambang Sari at the lake and he was attracted by her beauty. Getting advises from a wise old man, Mat Teja finally managed to win the heart of Mambang Sari. Living happily on earth, Mambang Sari bore Mat Teja a son. However, their happy moment did not last any longer as their baby died after a short while. Undergoing such a traumatic and tremendous pain, Mambang Sari decided to lay her child to rest in peace in the lake. At the same time, she blessed all the childless and infertile women to be conceivable after bathing themselves in the lake.
II. Pantai Kok has a pleasant range of tourist attractions to grab your attention. Besides relaxing on its clean-as-a-whistle beach, you can also head to the elaborate Oriental Village which plays host to a great deal of tourist attractions. The stunning Mat Chincang Mountain forms the perfect backdrop in the distance while the Telaga Harbour wharf home to gleaming mega-yachts – makes you go green with envy at the sight.
Even though Langkawi is a small island, this quarter of the island manages to offer visitors more than a few entertainment options. Home to upscale resorts and a yacht haven, the crowds here are invariably a mix of well-heeled foreigners. Tourist attractions are spread out over Pantai Kok’s wide expanse making a car or a tour guide absolutely essential if you’d like to visit them all.
Anis : Excellent! How much did you enjoy your visit ?
Alysa : It is a wonderful experience. The memory of my visit still haunts me.
Anis : Thank you very much for your nice description .
Alysa : You are most welcome.Have a nice visit.

  6. On the beautiful morning my friend Jenny who just came from Canada wanted to visit the beautiful and historical place in Malaysia. Then, she asked me where is the best places to visit in Sabah. I decided to call her on the phone.

Qistina : Hai jenny, how are you?
Jenny : Well hello my friend, I’m fine thank you. How about you? And have you find the historical places in Sabah that I ask you to search for?
Qistina : I’m fine too. Yes I already found the places that you wanted to go at Sabah. I’ve listed down some place that you want to go.
Jenny : Oh really, so can you tell me some of it. I really excited to hear it.
Qistina : Okay, first of all I’ll start with Mount Kinabalu would probably be at the top of most people's top Sabah attractions because it is easily the tallest peak in Malaysia (4,101m) and one of Asia's most popular climbing destinations. Most climbers take two days, breaking the journey overnight at Laban Rata. It is hard work but a worthwhile experience.
The second highest is Gunung Trus Madi at 2642m. Experts rate it as a fairly easy climb and from the top, weather conditions permitting, climbers can enjoy a fine view of Gunung Kinabalu.

Jenny : Wow, I can’t wait to go there. So how about the other places Qistina?
Qistina : The second places that I’ve choose is Sabah has some of the world's best diving locations
Sipadan Island is rated as one of the top ten best dive destinations in the world. Its coral formations attract green and hawksbill turtles, barracuda, big-eye trevally, manta rays, hammerhead sharks, whale sharks and countless colourful smaller fish.
There is also good diving at the nearby Mabul and Kapalai Islands.
Tun Sakaran Marine Park (also known as the Semporna Islands Park) is the largest marine park in Sabah and comprises eight islands, some of which are formed from the remains of extinct volcanoes. Tourism facilities are not yet developed but visitors may scuba dive or snorkel in the park's dive sites.

Jenny : Really? Oh my goddness I can’t wait to go diving because it was one of my hobbies.

Qistina : Jenny hold on, there’s another places that you need to go. This is the main places that you really have to go. That is North Borneo Steam Railway. Not quite the Orient Express but a pleasant little novelty train trip to conjure up the feel of yesteryear. Complete with tiffin lunch.
Sandakan Heritage Trail. This trail covers all the historical attractions this town has to offer.
Sandakan Memorial Park. This park is built on the site of a former WWII POW camp and was the starting point of the infamous Death March.
Signal Hill, Kota Kinabalu is a viewpoint overlooking modern Kota Kinabalu. Nearby is the Atkinson Clock Tower, the oldest building in KK and one of only three structures to survive the bombing raids during the war. That’s all that I can help you about the historical places that you wanted to go.
Jenny : Ohh okay, thank you so much for helping me Qistina. I really appreciate it, I hope that we could meet up someday.
Qistina : Anything for you pal, I hope you could enjoy and have fun while being in Malaysia. Alright hope we will meet someday. Bye bye Jenny! Missing you.
Jenny : Miss you too my dear, take care .

  11. Pian: Hi Afiq. The school year is almost over. Do you have any plans for the summer holiday?

Afiq: I'm planning on sleeping all day, every day!

Pian: Oh, come on Afiq, you must be kidding.

Afiq: Yeah, I'm just pulling your leg. Actually, I'm going to go down to Guizhou Province.

Pian: Really? Why would you go to Guizhou? It's not a very popular tourist site.

Afiq: Exactly! It's not very popular, so it won't be too crowded. I enjoyed my trip to the Great Wall, but there were so many people there. I think it spoiled the atmosphere a bit.

Pian: I'm sure Guizhou won't be so crowded. But won't it be too hot in the summer?

Afiq: No, according to one of my students, it's very cool in the summer. He said it is "naturally air conditioned".

Pian: Well, that sounds good. I wouldn't mind getting away from the Beijing heat myself. Still, I wonder... is there anything worth seeing in Guizhou?

Afiq: Sure! For one thing, there's the beautiful natural scenery. I'm sure you've heard of the Huang Guo Shu Waterfalls. There's also the Maling Gorge which is said to be spectacular. There are mountains everywhere in Guizhou, even in the capital city of Guiyang.

Pian: Yes, I have heard of Huang Guo Shu Pubu, but won't you get bored just looking at the scenery?

Afiq: Come on Pian, there's lots of things to do. I can go hiking in Qian Ling Park in Guiyang, visit Miao villages in the southeast, and I know you've heard of Zunyi, a very historical city. It's where Mao Ze Dong first became the leader of the Red Army.

Pian: Gee, when you describe it like that, it sounds really interesting!

Afiq: And that's not all. I'll able to eat very delicious, spicy food, drink world-famous maotai, and my student told me I can meet some very beautiful women there!

Pian: I'm sure you'll have fun Afiq, but let me give you some advice. Be sure to hold onto your wallet AND your heart!

    Afiq: We'll see what happens!

Pian: Do you have a place to stay in Guizhou?

Afiq: Yes, I'm very lucky. My student's sister is the manager of the Guizhou Park Hotel, the best hotel in the province. I've seen some pictures on the Internet, it's really nice! But I think outside Guiyang, I'll stay in a Miao village or maybe buy a tent and go camping.

Pian: That's great, Afiq. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos when you get back.
